BiographyAbout Mark A. WeissMark is a veteran of the electronics industry, having held positions in the electro-optical, data communications and applications engineering fields. His experience ranges from working with various types of lasers, to early peltier coolers for solid state lasers, on up to the design of broadcast audio processors, multiplexers and RF generators for broadcast use. In 1985, he decided to persue a longtime interest in graphics and became self-employed as a typesetter and graphic designer, folding in color prepress in 1990. During this time, he acquired a pair of color television cameras, became an early adopter of the AT&T TARGA graphics system, built a gen-lock system and modified the cameras so they could be synchronized and used with an effects switcher. During the early 1990s, Mark ran the DTP SIG and was a DACS member. After a slow-down in the DTP market in the late 1990s, he returned to the electronics engineering field, this time as a broadcast engineer. He held positions as Chief Engineer at WVIP in As digital video technology became viable, Mark could realize his lifelong interest in cinematography. By 2003, he had begun producing video professionally for various markets. In 2007, after much research, he embraced HD technology and established time-tested workflow techniques for handling full HD video. Mark is a self-appointed evangelist for Sony’s new XDCam tapeless workflow and has fully-implemented this cutting-edge technology for his video production business. Mark also hosts a weekly music program, on Sunday evenings, on radio station WQQQ 103.3 FM in Mark has been an avid audiophile for more than three decades, has designed and constructed numerous tube amplifiers, multi-way speaker systems and crossover networks.
