Now, when password-protecting an asset, you have the option to "Allow Non-Members to Download the Original" file (for music and videos).

Only password-protected assets will provide you with the option of enabling the download of the original for viewers who are not members.  Public assets, that is, assets that are not password-protected, require that the viewer be a member in order to download the original (video or music) file, depending, of course, on whether you have enabled this capability for your asset.

You can set the download behavior during the upload of your file as the image below shows:

You can also change the setting when you "edit" the asset information.

In addition, there is a new "defaults" area of your member profile that includes:
  • Allow others to embed your video (checked or unchecked by default)
  • Allow members to download the original video (checked or unchecked by default)
To change these "defaults", "edit" your "Profile Information".  You will see the "defaults" area of the screen as shown below:

Make changes to these defaults as you wish and "save" your profile information. You will notice that any asset that you subsequently upload will show you the check boxes checked or unchecked as per the preferences you have set.

Note that these defaults may be over-ridden on an asset-by-asset basis.

We hope that you find that these new features give you the added flexibility that many of you have asked for regarding the downloading of original files.
